The bathroom countertops are in!!
The bathroom countertops are in!!
It's been a while since I posted and the finish line is looking closer.
So the tile is done in the boys bathroom and I could not be happier about how it turned out.
We had a lot of fun this weekend and we also accomplished many things at the new house.
We had lots of fun at Scarlet's 3rd birthday.

We have been working hard at the new house for the past month. Every free moment we have is spent over there. We have finished painting the upstairs and hopefully this weekend will be finishing the majority of the downstairs. Tim is there right now hanging ceiling fans and painting the floor (so the pet smell does not come back).
I am so excited to report that decisions have been made. Tim took yesterday and today off so we could finalize some of the details for our renovations.
For the boys bath we are putting glow moon tile on the shower walls with a border of this mosaic and this tile in grey for the floor.
For the master bath this tile from Porcelanosa, with natif curry for the floor.
I am so excited that the tile has been finalized. One decision down, 5 million more to go.
It is so hard to decided what I want my master bath to look like. I keep changing my mind. At first I wanted tumbled marble tiles for the shower, then I found some large tiles with subtle stripes on them. Now I am leaning towards this tile.
Almost two months ago we bought a new house. It was a foreclosure and the previous owners did not take care of it. All the carpet was stained with animal urine and dried on gum. I could not believe people lived like this.
After the escrow closed, Tim tore out all of the carpet (0.88 tons to be exact) by himself and hauled it to the dump.
Our next step was to patch the hole in the front door and then paint the door. This was a two person job. We also got new hardware for all the outside doors, 6 to be exact. I am now an expert in installing dead bolts and door handles. Here is the hardware we chose:
Ashfield Single Cylinder Handleset, Exterior Only
Next the demo crew came in and tore out the kitchen and two upstairs bathrooms.
Here is what it looks like now:
