First Tastes
>> Sunday, June 5, 2011
One of the things I love most about the baby stage is all of the firsts, including first tastes.
Carter is almost six months old and has been eating solids for three weeks now. He started with rice cereal and then we added oatmeal. After two weeks of cereal and working up to two meals a day, he tried his first vegetable: peas.
I love making anything for my boys and food is no exception. It is a great feeling when you make something for them and they love it. Making your own baby food is so easy to do and sometimes it can take as little as ten minutes.
Here's how I did it:
Start with a bag of frozen peas in a pan and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for four minutes. Easy and quick. Add to food processor or blender...

Chubs' hair grew since last weekend! I think I'll pass on the peas. Now if you make your chicken skewers, count me in!
Your little one is adorable- those eyes!
I love that you made your own peas. It's absolutely amazing when you compare your homemade peas to the commercial peas. Just the color difference is incredible.
